The doors and the top come off a Wrangler, so its side airbags sit in the seat backs instead of the roof rail. In stock now are a driver seat side airbag fitting 2018 through 2023 and a black driver wheel airbag for 2019 and newer, both genuine OEM, with real photos and prices in the Wrangler listings. If your own module is keeping the light on, we reset the Wrangler ORC by mail and rebuild the belts that fired.
The Wrangler runs the Mopar airbag computer it shares with Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler, the ORC, or Occupant Restraint Controller. It tests each airbag squib circuit at startup, fires the airbags and seat belt pretensioners in a crash, and writes a permanent deployment record into memory. That stored crash event is what holds your airbag module reset hostage and keeps the airbag light on after a collision.
The data lives inside the ORC, so a generic OBD2 scanner cannot erase it. Clear a Wrangler hard code with a code reader and it comes right back. We reset your original Wrangler ORC in our shop, wipe the stored crash data and hard codes, and send it back reading factory-ready. It keeps its original Mopar coding and your VIN, so it plugs straight back in and works on the first key cycle.
The Wrangler puts the ORC a little more forward than the cars do. On the JK Wrangler it sits at the front of the center console, under the radio and the heater and A/C controls, mounted to the floor on the tunnel. On the JL it stays in that center console area between the front seats. It is fastened with the Mopar three-nut studs on a bracket welded to the tunnel, the same mounting the Ram and Grand Cherokee use.
You remove the lower center stack trim or the console to reach it. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable and wait about two minutes for the system to discharge before touching the restraint wiring. Then back off the three nuts, lift the ORC off the studs, and release the connector. Straighten the bracket if the floor took damage in the collision.

The ORC has carried the Wrangler restraint system across the TJ, JK, and the current JL, plus the Gladiator pickup that shares the JL underpinnings. We reset the module and rebuild the belts on all of them.
The Wrangler uses the Mopar B-series squib codes on the ORC. Deployment and crash-data codes clear with a reset. Some flag a circuit or part. Scan yours and look it up first.
We reset your original Wrangler ORC and clear the stored crash data so the airbag light goes out and stays out. We also rebuild the seat belts, single, dual, and triple-stage pretensioners on the Wrangler returned to factory operation, locked retractors freed, and worn webbing addressed. The belt side of the job is on our seat belt repair page.
We will always be straight with you: a module reset clears the stored crash codes, it does not repair physical damage. Your Wrangler has to be mechanically fixed and the airbags and belt hardware properly replaced before the restored module goes back in. We handle the electronics. You make sure the Jeep is safe.
A dealer wants to sell you a new ORC and initialize it with a factory scan tool. We restore the one already in your Jeep. It is your original Mopar part, your original calibration, back for a fraction of the cost of a new module.
Same ORC, same two repairs. Here are a few more we work on, or jump back to the Jeep airbag service hub.
Mail us your original Wrangler ORC or seat belt. We clear the crash data, rebuild the pretensioner, and ship your factory part back ready to install.
