What B1318 means

The SRS system needs a steady supply of voltage to do its job. The module watches its input voltage, and if it falls below a set threshold, it logs B1318 for battery voltage low. Ford and Jaguar define the code that way, and it shows up across other makes that monitor system voltage the same way.

A very common version of this is the airbag light coming on right after a battery is replaced or after the battery was run completely flat. The module saw the low voltage, recorded the fault, and turned on the light. Once the voltage is healthy again, the underlying cause is gone, but the stored code may still need to be addressed.
