41-1X means the Honda SRS unit is getting no signal from the left front impact sensor. That sensor is one of the inputs the unit needs before it will decide to deploy, so the system goes offline until the signal comes back.
Front impact sensors mount ahead of the engine on the radiator support or the frame rail, where they feel a collision before the passenger compartment does. The left one feeds its reading to the SRS unit over a dedicated pair of wires. When that reading stops arriving, the unit records 41-1X because it can no longer trust its own crash detection on that corner of the car.
The location is what makes this circuit fail. It sits in the path of road spray, salt, headlight water leaks, and every front end repair the car has ever had. A sensor that was unplugged during bumper or radiator work, or a connector full of green corrosion, produces the same silence as a sensor that has quit working.
41-1X is a live input fault. The unit rechecks the sensor every time the system powers up and stores this code only while the signal is missing. Crash data works on a different rule: once a deployment is recorded, that entry is permanent and no scan tool erases it, regardless of what the sensors do afterward.
There is nothing a module reset can do about a missing sensor signal. Our service clears locked crash data and restores the module, which is the right fix after a deployment, and it does nothing for a sensor that is unplugged, corroded, or dead. Get the signal restored first. If the car deployed in a wreck and the module is locked on that event, mail it to us once the sensor and harness are sorted out.
Honda is the make listed for 41-1X. The 41 group covers the left front impact sensor, and the trailing characters identify the specific condition, which is why the same 41 prefix appears with different second pairs.
Get the front bumper cover or the wheel liner out of the way and look at the sensor connector, because corrosion and a plug left loose after collision work explain most of these.
