What B0052-13 means

The passenger buckle contains a switch that reports whether the belt is latched. That input matters more on the passenger side than most people expect, because the module combines it with occupant weight and position data to decide how the passenger airbag should behave. B0052-13 is stored when the circuit to that switch is open.

Diagnosis follows the same path as any low current switch circuit. The lead exits the buckle stalk, flexes with seat travel, joins a connector under the seat, and runs to the module. A break anywhere along that route, or a switch that has worn out inside the buckle, produces an identical complaint.
