The front passenger side airbag inflator loop is reading low, and that is what 32-3X reports on Acura. The module has found current taking a path it should not have, so it locks the system out.
Resistance on a side airbag firing loop has to land inside a defined range. When the passenger side pair measures below that range, the SRS unit knows the two conductors are touching or one has met another circuit. Acura stores 32-3X, refuses to arm the passenger side bag, and keeps the warning light on until the reading comes back.
The bag itself sits in the outboard bolster of the passenger seat back, and its harness follows the seat through every adjustment. Passenger seats also collect spills, car seat hardware, and cargo, all of which put stress on wiring that was only designed to flex. That is where most low readings on this circuit begin.
32-3X describes a live measurement. The SRS unit reads the loop constantly, so the code is present only while the short is present. Deployment data works on a different principle, locked into memory at the moment the bags fire and impossible to erase with a scan tool.
Clearing the code without fixing the wiring gets you a warning light again before the car leaves the bay. The short has to be found first. Once the circuit reads correctly the code stays gone on its own. Our mail-in reset applies to a module locked on stored crash data, which is what happens after an actual deployment rather than a wiring fault.
32-3X is listed under Acura in our code index. Match the code to the correct list for the badge on the car so you are not testing a circuit from another manufacturer's numbering.
Start under the seat with the connector, since a spill or a crushed loom shows itself there without any disassembly. Unplug the side airbag and measure the loop resistance at the bag to decide whether the low reading follows the airbag or stays with the harness. A bag that reads low internally needs replacing, and we carry genuine OEM Acura side airbag assemblies pulled and tested in our own shop. Related codes: 31-8X, 32-9X, B0071.
Trace the wiring and connectors first. If the module still holds the fault after the repair, mail it to us and we will clear it.
