Code B274C-13 says the driver side seat thorax squib 1 control circuit reads open. That is the side airbag built into the driver seat, and an open loop means the ORC cannot fire it, so it turns the airbag lamp on.
Squib 1 is the firing element inside the driver seat side airbag. The ORC pushes a tiny test current through that loop and measures resistance. An open reading means the current found no path at all, so the module marks the circuit with a -13, the failure type Chrysler uses for an open circuit, and locks deployment out.
The loop runs from a module pin, through the harness under the carpet, out to a connector under the seat, then up the seat frame to the airbag. Anywhere along that path an open can hide. Seats get removed, slid, and reupholstered more than almost anything else in a truck, and the wiring underneath takes the consequences.
What you have here is a live resistance reading, not a stored crash record. The ORC measures that loop constantly, so B274C-13 comes and goes with the actual condition of the circuit and clears once the loop reads in range. Crash data is the opposite sort of thing. It is stamped in after a deployment, a scan tool will not touch it, and only a module reset takes it out.
Sending the module in will not close an open circuit. The ORC retests the loop within seconds of the key turning on, and an open loop brings the code straight back. Repair the connector or the wire first. When the seat airbag has already fired and the module carries a deployment record on top of this fault, that record is what our mail-in reset removes after the physical repairs are done.
B274C-13 shows up under Ram in our lookup. Chrysler restraint systems pair a base code with a failure type, so this same B274C number shows up with a short to ground or short to power suffix when the complaint is different.
Slide the driver seat all the way forward and look underneath for the yellow connector before you do anything else, because an unlatched plug is the most common finding and costs nothing to rule out. Work the harness by hand through its range while watching for the code to change state. If the loop still reads open with a good connector, measure at the module end to decide whether the harness or the airbag is at fault.
