What B1B0F means

The second stage firing loop for the passenger airbag should only be completed through the bridge wire inside the inflator. B1B0F is written when the controller measures the feed and return joined somewhere else in the circuit, which is an unusable condition for a device that has to fire on a precise current.

Naming the fault as shorted together rather than simply low narrows the hunt considerably. Both squib 2 wires have to be contacting one another, so the search runs along the sections where that pair is bundled, from the controller connector across the dash to the airbag.

• The squib 2 wire pair crushed against a dash brace or duct
• Corrosion or moisture bridging adjacent terminals in the SRS connector
• Damage from earlier dash work where the harness was pinched behind a panel
• An inflator shorted internally across its second stage terminals
• Terminals displaced inside the connector housing so the pins touch

This code reports a live electrical condition, placing it with the circuit faults. Separate the conductors and the next measurement reads normally.
