Dual stage passenger airbags carry two independent firing circuits so the module can match inflation to the severity of the crash and the occupant in the seat. Squib 2 handles the second stage. The controller tests its loop continuously, and a resistance under the expected range causes B1B0C to be stored.

Because squib 1 and squib 2 travel the same harness and often share a connector, a fault on one is worth checking against the other. Two low readings at once usually mean the harness or connector rather than two failed inflator stages.
